Building Code & Fire Code Issues
ERMI has categorized the operations and the various materials used and stored at the World Motoplex facility with respect to their fire safety and toxic release safety as required by the Uniform Fire Code, Uniform Building Code, and Uniform Mechanical Code in the State of California. The specific codes that were used to evaluate the operations of this facility are as follows:
    • 2001 California Fire Code (CFC)
    • 2001 California Building Code (CBC)
    • 2001 California Mechanical Code (CMC)
    Traffic Impact Issues
The City of San Marcos has changed the land-use designation of the subject site from a solid waste use to "movie studio and light industrial". The traffic impact from the movie studio was evaluated by the City of San Marcos was based on the estimated 650 employees traveling to and from the facility. City of San Marcos officials determined that the movie studio project would not result in a dramatic increase in traffic around the area. The World Motoplex facility will have parking for about 400 participant and spectator vehicles. The proposed World Motoplex facility will generate significantly less traffic than the movie studio project; therefore it is expected that the City should find a similar assessment for this project. A formal traffic analysis will be conducted and will be submitted along with the facility building plans to City of San Marcos to be used in their plan check process.
