Indoor speedways were born in Europe and are now taking off in the US. The concept of indoor racing is still fairly new in the US; however, there are over 700 kart racing facilities in Europe and abroad with only about 75 facilities in the United States. To put it in perspective, there are about 20 indoor kart racing facilities in Paris alone, which is about the same population as Los Angels; however, LA has only 3 kart-racing facilities serving it so far. This is changing very quickly.
Indoor motocross is now catching on very quickly in the United States also. Wherever there are strict outdoor noise ordinances and a high density of successful corporations and residences, there is also a high demand for the thrilling events and entertainment that only indoor racing can provide. The facilities are typically open to the general public for parties and general entertainment, as well as bookings by groups and corporations for team building events, sales meetings, business luncheons, awards banquets, management retreats, fund raisers and much more.
Indoor motocross is even newer, and catching on quickly in the United States. With so many outdoor tracks being shut down in Southern California, indoor MX is the best alternative to serving the ever popular demand. In some areas, indoor tracks make sense due to wet weather. In Southern California, we simply don't have the room to ride outdoors near our densely populated areas. Properly managed indoor facilities simply eliminate the noise issues that have shut down so many tracks. Today, indoor MX is a relatively new concept, but it is quickly becoming an accepted standard.
